Ovulation Test

The Ovulation test is a method of testing for ovulation.

During the female hormone cycle, ovulation usually takes place at mid-cycle.   This is the time that the woman is most fertile, and most likely to be able to conceive.   However, ovulation does not always take place at this particular moment.

In those with infertility, it is important to find out whether and when ovulation is taking place, and the test may be used to confirm this.

The Ovulation test is carried out using a special test kit, using a small amount of saliva.   A full set of instructions is included, but basically a small amount of saliva is placed on a special lens unit.   This is allowed to dry, and then a visual inspection made through the lens using a special light included.

The results are available within 5 - 6 minutes, when findings are compared with the charts provided which will indicate whether you are ovulating or not.

Key Benefits

  • Simple, effective.
  • Non-invasive, no blood test needed.
  • Immediate results.
  • May be used for repeated tests for up to 2 years.

Who should have the test?

The test is available to all menstuating women, but may be particularly useful for:

  • those wanting to maximise their chances of conceiving.
