Estronex Test The Estronex test measures the person's risk of developing oestrogen-dependent cancer, such as breast cancer. Oestrogen is broken down in the body into one of two products or metabolites. The breakdown metabolites are 2-hydroxy-estrone (2-OHE) and 16-alpha-hydroxy-estrone (16-OHE). The first (2-OHE) tends to inhibit cancer growth, whereas the second (16-OHE) encourages cancer development. The Estronex test measures the ratio of these two metabolites, and this provides an important indication of risk for the future development of oestrogen-dependent cancer. Key Benefits
